Tropical Rum Cakes ("we", "us") is a small bakery in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. This policy explains what we collect when you use order.tropicalrumcakes.net, why, and who we share it with. We do not sell your information.
What we collect
- Your order details: your name, email, phone number, the cakes you order, gift messages and notes, and, for delivery or shipping, the address the order is going to.
- Your account, if you make one: your email address and a password. We never see your password; it is stored scrambled by our sign-in provider.
- Payments: card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep a record that you paid, how much, and Stripe's reference for the payment.
- Gift cards: gift cards are sold and managed by Gift Up. When you use one, we keep its code and the amount used on your order.
- Our email list, if you join: your email, and your first name and phone number if you give them, and where you signed up.
How we use it
- To make, deliver, ship or hand over your order, and to contact you about it.
- To email your receipt and updates such as "ready for pickup" or your tracking number.
- To show you your past orders if you have an account.
- To keep the records any business must keep, such as sales records for taxes.
We only send news (new flavors, fresh bakes, specials and events) to people who join our email list, at an event, on our sign-up page or with the box at checkout. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link. If you are one of our existing customers, we may also email you once to introduce ourselves and explain how to order.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help us run the store, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe processes card payments.
- Shippo and the shipping carrier (such as USPS or UPS) get your name, address and phone number to ship your order.
- Gift Up manages gift cards and checks gift card codes.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Supabase stores our orders and accounts, and Vercel hosts this website.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies and your browser
- Your cart is saved in your own browser until you check out.
- If you sign in, a cookie keeps you signed in.
- If you open a personal order link we emailed you, a cookie remembers you on that device so checkout can fill in your details. "Not you?" at checkout removes it.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for our business and tax records. You can delete your account at any time by asking us; your past orders stay in our sales records.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing us. We will answer within 30 days.
Children
This store is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top.
